When I meet new brides-to-be I will inevitably have a conversation with them in regards to pre-wedding weight-loss. This is something I completely understand and support if any of my brides mention this is what they want to do. At Beautiful Bird we hold off making the gown to give ample time for our brides to really give it a good shot. Now I am all for feeling good about your-self and when you have such an important day ahead of you why shouldn’t you look and feel your very best. I am also a tireless dieter, I know the aches and pains of trying to loose the last 5kilos that will make you look like Claudia Schiffer, I also know that there are sneaky ways to help every body shape and size if you just can’t get to where you want to be before your big day.
This is important as sometimes your body will simply not allow you to look the way you imagined; and why shouldn’t you look the way you imagined?…….

Whilst out and about this week, I got chatting to a lovely lady who, although insisted she was no closer to getting married, was rather perplexed by the whole notion of choosing a wedding dress. “Where do you start?” was the question. This made me wonder… how do you choose a gown, and can everybody have a ‘Fairy Godmother’?
The more I browse the wedding magazines and the bridal shops, with their mountains of perfect white gowns all sparkling enticingly under the sharp Halogen crystals, it occurred to me that there would be no way I personally could choose from the many forms of magical moments that potentially face me. Each piece represents somebody’s ideal of a wedding dress and all I can think is “I hope that when it comes to it, my fairy Godmother shows up”……
